Prepare

  • Chop 2 pieces Large Onion into 5mm chunks
  • Chop 2 pieces Bell Pepper
  • Chop 4 cloves Garlic Cloves

Spice Mix 1

  • 2 tsp Ground Cumin
  • 8 tsp Mild Chilli Powder
  • 2 tsp Paprika

Spice Mix 2

  • 1 tsp Marjoram
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • 4 tbsp Tomato Puree

Cook the Chilli

  • Add 2 tbsp Olive Oil to pan
  • Fry onions on medium heat for (stir regularly)
  • Add chopped peppers and garlic
  • Add Spice Mix 1 (cumin, chilli powder, paprika)
  • Continue frying for (stir regularly)
  • Add 1000g Minced Beef, cook on higher heat until browned (at least )
  • Boil 600ml Water and dissolve 2 cubes Beef Stock Cube
  • Add stock to pan
  • Add 800g Chopped Tomatoes (tin)
  • Add Spice Mix 2 (marjoram, sugar, tomato puree)
  • Season with salt and pepper
  • Bring to boil, cover and simmer for
  • Stir regularly to stop sauce from sticking. Add more water if needed
  • Drain and rinse 820g Kidney Beans (tin, drained), add to pan
  • Simmer uncovered for
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste
  • Leave to stand for before serving

Cook the Rice

  • Rinse 300g Basmati Rice until water runs clear
  • Add rice and 600ml Water to saucepan
  • Bring to boil, then reduce heat to lowest setting
  • Cover and cook for 12 minutes
  • Remove from heat, keep covered for 5 minutes
  • Fluff with fork before serving

Serve

  • Serve chilli over rice
